This deceptively simple portrait of 'Fred' is painted straight onto a wooden board. In natural earthy colours with a splash of blue, I imagine him to be an old farmhand, sitting down after a day in the fields, a pint of ale just out of view. He'd look fabulous hanging in a country kitchen.
