The delight of these classic Observer books never seems to wane. These iconic little books have been around since 1937 and have quite a cult following on Instagram. In the late 1970s, Warne (the publishers) decided to laminate the covers to the actual books to make them sturdier and more resistant to wear. I think they make lovely neutral decorative items, ranging from white to rich buttery tones. Some of these are beautiful first edition examples - rare finds including the first edition of Observer's World Atlas which is slightly larger to accommodate the maps and the only edition of Folk Song in Britain.
